Going up against one of the most inconsistent pass defenses in the NFL, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Greg Jennings posted a dud. Jennings caught four passes for 41 yards on 10 targets, continuing his lackluster first year in the Twin Cities.

The question is, what does this mean for Jennings' fantasy football value and why is he playing so poorly?

During the 2013 regular season, Jennings has 24 receptions for 327 yards and a touchdown. He's topped 45 receiving yards in just two games, when he went off or 84 and 92 respectively, after serving as one of the most consistent players in the league for the better part of a decade.

So why is Jennings struggling to do much of anything? For once, it's acceptable for a wide receiver to blame it on his quarterback.

During Week 7, it was Josh Freeman's turn to struggle.

It was as bad as that tweet makes it seem.

Freeman's passes routinely sailed on him, leaving Jennings and company in an uncomfortable position. No matter how hard the Vikings receiving corps may try to make plays, the inconsistencies of Matt Cassel, Christian Ponder and Freeman at quarterback have been crippling.

Until consistently is created at that position, you should explore trading Jennings or keep him stashed deep on your bench.

On paper, Jennings is the perfect wideout for Freeman, serving as a big play threat and a short-yardage weapon. 79.3 percent of Jennings' career catches have gone for either a first down or a touchdown, but in Minnesota, his effectiveness will be hindered by disappointing quarterback play.

Until Minnesota finds a reliable player under center, stay away from Jennings.
