The Indianapolis Colts came away with a big 39-33 win over the Denver Broncos, and Darrius Heyward-Bey had a big fantasy outing in the game.
With around nine minutes remaining in the second quarter, DHB had already put up 45 yards and a touchdown on three receptions. In the first quarter, Heyward-Bey started to go in motion like he was going to run a reverse, then changed direction and Andrew Luck threw to him for the 11-yard score.
He didn't make much of an impact for the rest of the game, but a big 30-yard run on a reverse in the second half gave DHB 13 points in the win. He doubled his production for the entire season in just one game, scoring only 13 points through the first six games.
This was a big game for Heyward-Bey, but he still hasn't been a very productive receiver. Heading into Sunday, he'd had just 14 receptions for 146 yards and zero touchdowns.
Maybe this will start to change things, but for now, it's probably not the best idea to overreact and move him into your starting lineup. The Colts have other weapons in Reggie Wayne and T.Y. Hilton, which will limit the amount of opportunities DHB can get.
