Robert Griffin III's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 7
The old Robert Griffin III is back.
Against the Chicago Bears in Week 7, the Washington Redskins QB totaled 298 yards passing with two touchdowns and an interception. He also had 84 yards on the ground, good enough for his highest rushing output in 2013.
Perhaps more importantly, Griffin was efficient in the passing game. Last season, he averaged 26 attempts a game during the regular season. That number is up to 38.5 in 2013. The uptick in pass attempts resulted in big performances through the air, but it took away from RG3's ground game.
Ideally, Griffin would be able to find that balance between running and passing, and he seemed to do that this week. His 29 passing attempts are the lowest of his season, and his 11 carries are the highest.
The surgically repaired knee is looking good. Earlier in the season, the Redskins were being cautious with Griffin. Now they have apparently let him loose, to the delight of RG3's fantasy owners and the dread of opposing defenses.
He's back to being a rock-solid QB1 moving forward.
