South Carolina needs help. There's no way around it.

After a heartbreaking loss to Tennessee, the Gamecocks are fighting to stay alive in the hunt for the SEC East division title. But the prize of an SEC title game berth is quickly slipping from the Gamecocks' grasp.

Injuries are leaving their mark on the squad as quarterback Connor Shaw is constantly getting smacked around.

All is not lost...yet. South Carolina can still fight its way back into the mix, though the Gamecocks definitely need some help.

Here are three teams poised to help the Gamecocks' BCS ranking.

1. Missouri Tigers

Where in the world did Missouri come from? The Tigers have stormed to No. 5 in the AP Poll.

With Missouri clearly in control of the SEC East, South Carolina has a chance to play spoiler this weekend as it goes on the road to take on the Tigers. A win would go a long way in restoring the Gamecocks' ranking and inching the team closer to the top of the SEC East.

A win over a top five team will push South Carolina way up in the polls despite losses to Tennessee and Georgia.

This Missouri team means business, so a win over the Tigers is no easy task, but the Gamecocks' ranking would skyrocket with a trademark victory this weekend.

2. Clemson Tigers

I thought Clemson was overrated all along, but let's not get into the matter. Florida State stomped on the Tigers, made them cry and humiliated them on national TV in a marquee matchup of top five teams.

Clemson dropped the ball and left with a huge blemish on its record and ranking.

However, Clemson is still a top 10 team.

If Clemson can rebound from the devastating loss to Florida State and win out until the South Carolina showdown, then South Carolina can notch another quality win to its resumé.

3. Florida Gators

The Gators' offense is atrocious. The defense is solid, but that offense is awful. So how can Florida help out South Carolina?

Florida has quality remaining games against Georgia, Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Florida State. Georgia is injured and struggling but would be a decent win regardless. Vanderbilt is a tough SEC opponent. Florida State is proving to be a true national championship contender after the beat down it handed to Clemson.

Florida does not have the offensive firepower to win a shootout, but it does have the defense to limit opposing teams. Wins over Georgia and Vanderbilt would boost Florida's resumé and subsequently help South Carolina.

However, the biggest game is the in-state battle with Florida State. The Seminoles are ranked No. 3 in the AP Poll and would be the biggest win of all.

A Florida victory against a potent Florida State team and a South Carolina win over Florida would be monstrous for South Carolina.

The current state of Gamecocks Nation is bleak. But there are still some key games remaining and other teams that can help South Carolina's cause.
