Updates on FA's Flare Investigation from Aston Villa vs. Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur's 2-0 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday was marred by an incident that saw fans throw a smoke bomb onto the field. The smoke bomb hit a linesman, and the situation is currently being investigated by the West Midlands Police.

Police investigating the incident at the Villa v Spurs game earlier say they believe it was a smoke bomb thrown - two men are in custody

According to West Midlands Police, two men have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police have arrested 2 men after a lit flare was thrown on the pitch during the Villa v Spurs game - the flare hit a linesman #avfc #thfc

As seen in this GIF courtesy of Feint Zebra, the linesman was hit in the back by the thrown object, and it proceeded to smoke once it hit the ground.
