Chris Ivory Quickly Reverses Fantasy Value After Solid Week 7 Performance
The New York Jets have surprised the NFL this season en route to a 4-3 record and Sunday's upset over New England. In the win, running back Chris Ivory erased his early-season woes and had a solid performance.
Ivory ran for 104 yards on the ground, which was the first time all season he reached the century mark and just the second time he's surpassed 25 rushing yards.
But his most surprising and impressive stat lies in his whopping 34 carries on the game. The Jets pounded the rock all game long and ran behind the physical style of Ivory.
Get this—34 carries were exactly how many Ivory had on the season prior to Week 7. He had just as many on Sunday.
Fantasy experts were high on Ivory to start the season, as his supposed feature-back expectations propelled him to early-round status in many drafts. It wasn't a start of the season to remember, however, as he came into Sunday with just 116 rushing yards.
If Ivory gets anywhere near his level of production and effectiveness as he had Sunday against the Patriots, he'll be worth looking at in a starter's role from here on out.
