Matt Schaub Injury: Case Keenum Won't Steal Texans' Starting QB Spot
Although 2013 has been an absolute nightmare season thus far for Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub, the veteran doesn't have to worry about backup Case Keenum, who will start in his place in Week 7, stealing his starting job for good.
After all, Keenum has never appeared in a regular-season game and will be facing off against one of the league's top secondaries on the road this Sunday. The Chiefs rank second in the NFL in fewest passing yards allowed and have surrendered just five touchdowns through the air through six weeks.
They also have 10 interceptions over that time.
Given Keenum's lack of NFL experience and Kansas City's current form, it's almost impossible to imagine a scenario where the former Houston Cougar is able to convince Gary Kubiak and the Texans' coaching staff that he's the guy moving forward.
Kansas City's defensive unit forces turnovers better than any team in the league and has been a quarterback's worst nightmare thus far in 2013. Look for that trend to continue in Week 7.
