Injuries have always been an unavoidable issue in the NFL, but in 2013 a number of big-name players have gone down. And it's only Week 7.
Several teams have been decimated by injuries this season, but none more so than the New England Patriots.
Bill Belichick and the Pats have watched three of their best defenders limp off the field, including shutdown cornerback Aqib Talib, who, along with wide receiver Danny Amendola, will miss Sunday's divisional showdown with the New York Jets, according to ESPNBoston.com's Field Yates.
Nose tackle Vince Wilfork and linebacker Jerod Mayo have both been lost for the year.
Another team that has been hit hard by the injury bug through six weeks is the Green Bay Packers. In addition to losing star pass-rusher Clay Matthews for two to three weeks to a thumb injury, the Pack will be without dynamic wide receiver Randall Cobb for at least six weeks while he recovers from a fractured fibula.
Green Bay's division rival, the Minnesota Vikings, are hoping a hamstring injury doesn't slow running back Adrian Peterson in Week 7. The Vikings will play the winless New York Giants on Monday Night Football this week and will need the league's reigning rushing leader to be at his best in order to relieve some of the pressure on quarterback Josh Freeman, who will make his Vikings debut.
Elsewhere in Week 7, the Atlanta Falcons will be without offensive weapons Roddy White and Steven Jackson, while fantasy superstars Calvin Johnson and Arian Foster were both listed as probable coming into the day, according to NFL.com.
Below, we'll bring you the latest news on key injuries around the league in Week 7 and break down how they will affect teams and your fantasy lineup.
