Yohan Cabaye, 22' (1-0), Steven Gerrard, penalty 41' (1-1), Paul Dummett, 56' (2-1), Daniel Sturridge, 72' (2-2)
Yanga-Mbiwa, NEWC, 41'
Newcastle: Krul, Debuchy, Yanga-Mbiwa, Williamson, Santon, Cabaye (Anita), Tiote, Sissoko (Drummond), Gouffran, Ben Arfa (Sa. Ameobi), Remy.
Liverpool: Mignolet, Toure, Skrtel, Sakho (Luis Alberto), Johnson (Sterling), Gerrard, Henderson, Cissokho, Moses, Suarez, Sturridge.
A back-and-forth game comes to an end with both sides taking a point, which Newcastle will be happier with than Liverpool no doubt.
Cabaye opened the scoring with a long-range strike which bounced past Mignolet, before Gerrard converted a penalty won by Suarez. Yanga-Mbiwa was also sent off for that foul, leaving Newcastle with 10 men for the second half, but substitute Drummett quickly put them back in front after the break. Sturridge headed home from close range for 2-2 and neither team could find an eventual winner.

...and Suarez hits the target, but Krul makes the save!
90+5'—Five minutes into injury time, Suarez wins a free kick on the edge of the box. Debuchy barges him over, clear foul. The game rests on this...
90+3'—Nice passing and probing, but then Luis Alberto shoots well over the bar. Probably all but over now.
90+2'—It's remarkably open for the final minutes of a 2-2 game with one side down to 10 men, but Newcastle are being encouraged to attack by their fans. Liverpool have the ball back now and will surge forward again with a final look for a winning goal.
90'—Sturridge commits Krul but overruns the ball just a little. He chips the ball back for Moses but Debuchy heads clear.
Four minutes added on.
89'—Into the final 60 seconds of the 90 minutes now. Is there one more big opportunity in the game?
86'—Newcastle break forward and think they might be in for a winner themselves after a Liverpool corner and Remy was one-on-one with Cissokho—but the defender times his tackle exactly right to win back the ball.
85'—Debuchy, sent off against Liverpool last season, is booked for a wild tackle on Moses. Last five minutes now. This point will take the Reds top, but it will certainly be a case of two points dropped here if they don't find a winner.
84'—What a chance! Gerrard curls a fantastic 30-yard pass into the feet of Sturridge, inside the six-yard box, and he just has to place it back across goal into the corner—but it's well off target and Krul doesn't even have to make the save. What a big moment.
83'—Sturridge is booked now for a late sliding tackle on Gouffran. Not nice to see Tiote waving an imaginary card at the referee to encourage the booking.
EA Sports tell us Liverpool have had 76% of the possession in this second half. No huge surprise, but even more frustrating for that second Newcastle goal conceded.
All out attack for the Reds then!
Liverpool sub: Raheem Sterling on for Glen Johnson
80'—Newcastle have eight players on the edge of their own box now. Their mission is pretty clear, just to get through the last 10 minutes here without conceding a third goal.
Double Newcastle sub: Cabaye and Ben Arfa off, Sammy Ameobi and Vurnon Anita on
77'—No idea how Liverpool aren't ahead. Moses keeps the ball in at the back post. Krul dives down out of his goal, Sturridge shoots off target and Henderson deflects it past the far post. Frantic and fast-paced, but too hurried this time.
75'—OFF THE BAR! All Liverpool now and suddenly Suarez and Sturridge are everywhere. This time it's the former who runs onto a ball into the penalty area, and Suarez simply blasts a first-time effort past Krul—and it rocks off the crossbar and over. So close to Liverpool taking the lead.
74'—Just wide! Alberto drills a cross in from the right and Sturridge slides onto it, but pokes the ball just wide. The offside flag went up too as it happens. Liverpool really pushing on now as they search for a winner.
Liverpool break down the left, Suarez gets into the box, draws Krul and chips a cross into the six-yard-box—where Sturridge is running in to nod home from a few yards out. 2-2 with just under 20 to go.
Newcastle 2 Liverpool 2
Daniel Sturridge, 72 mins
71'—Kolo Toure is booked now for a late shoulder challenge on Remy.
70'—Liverpool still so slow to pass the ball where they should be moving it quicker to open up the 10 men. Moses is caught in possession, Tiote drives forward...and shoots about 30 yards wide. Straight up the other end, Suarez turns onto his right foot and shoots low, but Krul makes the save again.
68'—Another corner, another chance, another moment where Liverpool might have done better. Moses gets his head on this one, their 10th corner of the game, but it drifts rather aimlessly past the far post.
