World Football Hero of the Week: Graham Zusi and the USMNT

This week's hero will be welcomed with open arms anytime he steps foot inside Mexico: USMNT midfielder Graham Zusi.

Mexico were unable to beat Costa Rica in their CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier on Tuesday night, meaning they would lose out on the group playoff spot to Panama if they were able to get a result against the USA.

Up until the conclusion of normal time, Panama were leading the US, condemning El Tri to a tournament-free summer next year. However, in the second minute of injury time, Zusi's header put Mexico back in the playoff spot.

Mexican newspapers the following day were abundant in their thanks to their enemies to the north.

Although Zusi and his team are not heroes in Panama—they denied them their first ever potential World Cup appearance in a cruel fashion—they are certainly darlings in Mexico right now.
