Watch Yaya/Kolo Toure Chant Take over Newcastle Town Centre
Soccer AM have made the dance-off their own, but a group of revellers on a night out in Newcastle have cornered the market in sing-offs concerning Manchester City star Yaya Toure and his brother Kolo.
Manchester City fans crafted the song to the tune of 2 Unlimited’s No. 1 hit from 1993, "No Limit."
City fans are not alone in singing the song, as other clubs have their own versions for some of their players.
We’re not aware if Magpies fans roll it out for Loic Remy, but the song rang out on the streets of Newcastle in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
It would appear as if City fans led the way, as Joe Friar, who is studying sports coaching at Northumbria University, told the Manchester Evening News, "One of my flatmates is a Chelsea fan and he loves the Yaya/Kolo Toure chant and the actions after seeing me do it.
"We came out of a club and he started doing it in the middle of the road for some reason.”
At one point the revellers stopped traffic on the streets. Friar added, “It ended up going on for about 10 minutes—it was bizarre."
Bizarre or not, it looked like a whole lot of fun—unless you were one of the drivers attempting to get home.
