Julian Edelman: Week 7 Fantasy Outlook

RotoWireContributor October 16, 2013

Despite being heavily targeted by Tom Brady all year long, Edelman's been fairly quiet over the last two weeks (35 yards against the Bengals and 57 against the Saints) and still hasn't caught a TD since snagging two in Week 1. With Danny Amendola hurt yet again and iffy to play, Edelman promises to see a hearty number of looks once more in Week 7 against the Jets. Back in Week 2, he caught 13 balls for 78 yards against New York.
In the absence of Amendola, Brady has loved throwing intermediate stuff to Edelman, who's put together a solid season -- especially for PPR formats -- despite his lack of getaway speed. However, it's worth noting the bout of inefficiency that's struck him over the last two weeks; he's caught just seven out of 18 passes sent his way, a far cry from the 34 catches he made on 43 targets over the first four games. If Rob Gronkowski returns and/or Amendola is available, it may cut into Edelman's looks somewhat, but he should still see a good amount of volume again this week.
