Jeremy Kerley: Week 7 Fantasy Outlook

RotoWireContributor October 16, 2013

Kerley was targeted seven times by Geno Smith last week, but caught just two passes for 19 yards -- hardly the kind of performance one would expect from a possession receiver. He missed the Jets' Week 2 game against New England, so this will be his first time facing the Pats' secondary this year. Considering he hasn't exceeded 68 yards in a game through six weeks, he's not looking like a great option in Week 7.
Despite Geno Smith throwing the ball way too much this year, Kerley actually hasn't seen more than seven targets in a game -- a stunningly low number for a guy who should theoretically be catching plenty of balls out of the slot on third downs. As an undersized receiver without gamebreaking speed, his shortcomings are pretty glaring.
