Detroit High School WR Reportedly Breaks National Record for Receiving Yards

Last Friday, Nate Drew of Cesar Chavez Academy in Detroit caught 17 receptions for 459 yards and seven touchdowns in the team's 64-41 victory over Mayville, Mich., to break the national single-game receiving record. 

Chavez quarterback Omar Salih recorded a new state record by passing for 689 yards and a record-setting nine touchdowns—one more than the prior mark. He completed 32 of 52 passes in the win.

Per Tom Markowski and the Detroit News, "Coach Tarif Kumasi said he reviewed the film twice and will complete an online form to be sent to the Michigan High School Athletic Association office to have the numbers officially entered. If there is a dispute, Kumasi must submit the video."
