A Song for Arsenal's Season so Far: 'Don't Stop Me Now' Feat. Arsene Wenger
Confession: Those dulcet tones don’t really belong to Arsene Wenger. Apologies for the warbling. This is the proof that I am a writer and not a singer!
When trying to come up with a parody song to sum up Arsenal's season so far, I considered several different possibie adaptations. "Getting Better" by The Beatles was a strong contender—Arsenal seem to improve with every passing game. Another option was Queen's "A Kind of Magic." Anyone who has been lucky enough to see Mesut Ozil strutting his stuff at the Emirates Stadium will concede there is something very magical about his imaginative style of play.
In the end, another Queen track won out: "Don't Stop Me Now." The international break has arrived at an irritating point for Arsenal. The Gunners are in great form and can't wait to get back on the field. As the song says, Arsene Wenger and company don't want to stop at all.
Wenger sings the majority of the song, but he is joined by a veritable chorus of current Arsenal stars. Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil join forces on a verse, while there are cameos from the likes of Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini, Olivier Giroud and even Nicklas Bendtner.
Arsenal fans will hope the Gunners stars join forces again at the end of the season to sing a celebratory song to commemorate the end of their long wait for a trophy.
