Kenbrell Thompkins' Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 6 Performance vs. Saints
Kenbrell Thompkins may not have just saved the New England Patriots. He may have saved thousands of fantasy teams.
Prior to catching that 17-yard touchdown pass with five seconds left against the New Orleans Saints, the rookie wide receiver had been putting up lousy fantasy numbers. Many owners had probably given up on getting anything from him, and then came that touchdown.
Thompkins finished with three receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown. While those numbers aren't great, they're encouraging going forward. He should remain a part of New England's passing game and get five to six targets a game.
There's also the injury to Danny Amendola, via FOX Sports: NFL.
JUST IN: Patriots announce that Danny Amendola is out for the rest of the game with a head injury.— FOX Sports: NFL (@NFLONFOX) October 13, 2013
Depending on the severity of the injury, it could open up the road a bit more for Thompkins. Going forward, don't make him anything more than a No. 2 receiver, but he definitely has some value ahead— especially with Amendola's injury—and should remain in your lineup next week.
