T.J. Yates' Instant Fantasy Reaction After Matt Schaub's Injury
Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub had to leave the field in his team's Week 6 matchup against the St. Louis Rams after injuring his ankle, according to Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com.
La Canfora tweeted:
Matt Schaub is down, grabbing his ankle, and now trying to walk off to the sidelines. TJ Yates entering for 2nd straight game— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) October 13, 2013
If you are looking for backup T.J. Yates to save your fantasy football season, you are in for a rude awakening.
The third-year pro has completed under 60 percent of his passes for his career while averaging 6.7 yards per pass attempt and tossing three touchdowns to four interceptions. The 2011 fifth-round pick has posted a grand total of 15 pass attempts in the 2012 and 2013 seasons combined.
Yates finished Sunday 12-of-17 for 98 yards and two interceptions against the Rams. His first interception was returned 98 yards for a score.
Don't even start Yates if you are desperate. The reeling Texans face Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7 before their bye week, after which they play the Indianapolis Colts.
Even if Schaub misses extended time, Yates is not a viable fantasy option.
