Unfortunately, football and injuries go hand-in-hand. That notion is only amplified in the NFL.
While Sundays are better spent in awe of the amazing games, acrobatic plays and unforgettable moments, some injuries to key players tend to stand out—especially when we're talking about some of the league's most valuable and well-known players.
One of those guys heading into Week 6 is Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. There have been many rumblings regarding the star pass-catcher's likelihood to return from forearm surgery and make his 2013 debut.
It was reported by ESPN's Ed Werder early Sunday that Gronkowski won't be suiting up against the Saints. Heading into Sunday, Gronk had still not been cleared to play by Dr. James Andrews (per ESPN's Adam Schefter), only further clouding his injury situation that seemed promising early on in the week.
Gronkowski is just one of many players whose play—or lack thereof—will be magnified this week as the dog days of the 2013 NFL regular season wear on and bring with them a handful of injuries.
We'll have the latest news on any and all key injuries over the course of the Week 6 slate, so keep it locked here to Bleacher Report for updates.
