College Football Week 7: Live Updates

Highlighted by more than one matchup of Top 25 teams, Week 7 of the college football season is guaranteed to shake things up on Saturday.

The biggest game of the day comes courtesy of the Pac-12. The No. 2 Oregon Ducks will face their first road test of the season traveling to No. 16 Washington. But before those two talented teams square off, No. 7 Georgia will host No. 25 Missouri and No. 17 Florida will attempt to upset No. 10 LSU in Baton Rouge.

Throw in come heated conference games like the Red River Rivalry between No. 12 Oklahoma and Texas and this is going to be a day of college football you won't want to miss. Here are some Heisman hopefuls to keep an eye on and important injuries to track before the games get underway.

Heisman Contenders to Watch

Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon

Not only will the Oregon Ducks be facing their first real road challenge of the season, but Mariota will have his first opportunity to have a Heisman moment against a ranked team.

Heading into this game no one can question the merit of his Heisman campaign based on numbers. He's thrown 14 touchdowns to no interceptions, tacked on another seven touchdowns on the ground and averages 10.47 yards per play.

However, those numbers have come against suspect competition. Today he'll get the opportunity to shine in a game against a Washington team that is ranked and has the No. 10 scoring defense in the country at just 14.8 points per game allowed.

Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia

Another week, another test against a Top 25 team for Aaron Murray and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Usually strength of schedule doesn't count in the Heisman race, but at some point voters have to consider that Murray will be facing his fourth ranked opponent in six games this season. That's more ranked opponents than some Heisman candidates will face all season.

Murray struggled a bit with accuracy last week, only completing 19-of-35 passes, but he threw three touchdowns to no interceptions as the Bulldogs picked up the win over Tennessee in overtime. He'll need an even better performance this week to remain a top Heisman candidate.

Injury Updates

Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina

The nation's most feared and revered defender is still uncertain as to whether he'll play against the Arkansas Razorbacks this week. According to David Cloninger of The StateSteve Spurrier said that the star defensive end has practiced a bit and there's a "good chance he could play some out there."

Gamecock fans will certainly hope to see Clowney on the field. He wasn't able to go last week when South Carolina beat lowly Kentucky by a touchdown at home. They'll be looking to give Arkansas its fourth consecutive loss this season.

De'Anthony Thomas, RB, Oregon

Washington's task of beating the mighty Oregon Ducks just got a little more difficult. According to John Canzano of The OregonianDe'Anthony Thomas will play against the Huskies.

Scoring six touchdowns on 42 carries this season, Thomas is one of the country's most dynamic playmakers. The Ducks were able to hang 57 on Colorado without him last week, but they become even more dangerous with him in the backfield.

Keep it locked on this page throughout the day for all the latest on Heisman hopefuls, key injuries and more on what should be a great day of college football.
