World Football Yellow Card of the Week: Jack Wilshere

Will Tidey@willtideySenior Manager, GlobalOctober 9, 2013

It's not the fact Jack Wilshere has a view on what qualifies somebody to play for their country—see Alex Dimond's piece here—it's the fact Wilshere didn't anticipate the media reaction to saying his thoughts aloud.

The Arsenal and England midfielder should know by now what the media are capable of. His timing was poor and he was naive to come out so boldly on what is a sensitive issue.

The last thing England or Wilshere needed was a distraction, but that's exactly what they got with his comments this week.
