Jason Avant: Week 6 Fantasy Outlook

RotoWireContributor October 9, 2013

Avant has been the second-most targeted receiver on the Eagles behind DeSean Jackson with 29 targets, though he has caught just 15 passes on the year. Avant is also largely a possession receiver, meaning he is often overlooked in Chip Kelly's big-play offense.
Avant has 15 grabs for 179 yards and a touchdown through fives games, but has had over 40 yards receiving just once over that span. He may be relied upon sightly more this weekend against the Bucs, as DeSean Jackson will be covered by Revis Island. Nick Foles will be the starter at quarterback and is also more of a traditional QB, meaning Avant could be the beneficiary of more check downs than he would see from Michael Vick. Even still, it's tough to recommend Avant in almost any format at this time.
