Carl Long Suspended Until August 18

On Thursday, NASCAR suspended driver Carl Long until Aug. 18 for using an engine that was too big for the car.

In addition to the suspension, he was also docked 200 points, and his Crew Chief Charles Swing, was fined $200,000.

Car owner, Danielle Long, was also placed on suspension until Aug. 18 and docked 200 owners points.

Swing and both Long members have been placed on probation until Dec. 31.

Long only made 23 Sprint Cup starts in his career and has not started in a regular Sprint Cup race since 2006.
