The Seattle Seahawks dominate at home and have been covering big point spreads with ease. But the Tennessee Titans have been a pleasant surprise for bettors, and they get a 14-point head start in Week 6 action at CenturyLink Field.

Point spread: Seahawks opened as 14.5-point favorites; the total was 40.5. (Line updates and Matchup report)

Computer Prediction: 30.2-23.5 Seahawks

Why the Titans can cover the spread

After going three-and-out on their first five drives against the Chiefs, with a stagnant running game, the Titans somewhat recovered to run 22 times for 105 yards. Tennessee hopes to have Shonn Greene back this week to help Chris Johnson in the backfield, which relates to clock management.

They are 4-1-1 ATS in their past six games overall and 5-1 SU in six games versus NFC West teams since 2005.

Why the Seahawks can cover the spread

A loss last week will have this team fired up, looking to avenge a game they felt they gave away at Indianapolis. The defense gave up more than 20 points for the first time this season in the 34-20 loss. Now at home, in the loudest stadium in the league, the sixth-best defense in the league will be in shutdown mode.

They are 12-1 ATS in 13 recent home games and 10-3-1 ATS past 14 games as a double-digit favorite.

Smart Pick

Although this one is at home, the Seahawks are coming into this one after back-to-back road games—in Houston and Indianapolis. And this is a sandwich game before two more on the road—at Arizona and St. Louis. With the Titans trying to play keep away, plus Seattle’s D, the Under seems safer than a side.

Tennessee is 4-1-1 ATS in its last 6 games

Seattle is 10-2 SU in its last 12 games
