The Boston Red Sox have advanced to the ALCS with a 3-1 victory in Game 4 of the ALDS against the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Red Sox got to starter Jeremy Hellickson early, getting him out of the game in the second inning with the bases loaded and no outs. From there, manager Joe Maddon ran out eight more pitchers, and it still didn't help, as a strikeout by Evan Longoria ended the game.

And that's when the celebration began on the field:

It was a culmination of more than a year of hardships. The Red Sox traded away Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett and Carl Crawford, and finished last in the division last year.

Then, this offseason, they signed mid-range free agents like Shane Victorino and Mike Napoli. But those were the right moves, as the Red Sox showed they were one of the best teams in baseball all year.

Adding a little fuel to the fire was owner John Henry admitting he would have rather faced the Indians as opposed to the Rays.

Regardless, the Red Sox overcame that and won the series. And once it happened, Twitter reacted to the Red Sox winning the series:

But that's not all. What good is a series-clinching game without the clubhouse celebration? Here's a look at what happened inside the Red Sox's clubhouse after the game:

It's a celebration that was one year in the making and one the Red Sox hope to do twice more this year.
