Craig Davis of the Florida Sun-Sentinel provides this quote from Kevin Dineen, who speaks about Thomas' status:
"We're confident that he's not going to be [out] long-term. He's a quick healer," Panthers coach Kevin Dineen said of Thomas. "Unfortunate, but the short-term situation is we'll give [Clem] a call, and goaltending depth is becoming a factor in our season already."

Thomas, who took last year off after an eight-year career with the Boston Bruins, has had a forgettable start with the Panthers.
The 39-year-old former Conn Smythe Trophy winner allowed seven goals in the team's first two games (a win and a loss), including five on Saturday night against the St. Louis Blues before eventually being pulled from the game.
On Tuesday, he had given up two more goals in the first eight minutes before suffering an injury.
He was replaced by Jacob Markstrom, who made 23 starts for the Panthers last season.
