The Mirror reports that Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has made his first signing for next season in promising German youth international star and left-back Nils Zander.

Zander will join City in the summer from Schalke 04 and be part of City's youth set-up, Zander is tipped to be knocking on the first-team door sooner rather than later.

Meanwhile other breaking news is that Manchester City defender Nedum Onouha will receive a surprise call-up to the senior England side for next month's Kazakhstan and Andorra games.

Reports say that Fabio Capello is ready to give Onouha a chance to impress at right-back.
