Monday Night Football: Atlanta Falcons vs. New York Jets Game Has Wacky Start

Jake SilverSocial Media StaffOctober 8, 2013

The first quarter of the Monday night showdown between the Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets was full of exciting action. Three highlights stood out.

First, the Jets blocked a Falcons punt, though the play didn't end there. Safety Shann Schillinger recovered the fumble and threw a completion to minimize the damage.

Next, Jets tight end Jeff Cumberland couldn't make a reception, but the ball got fumbled around and he did end up completing the catch!

The final wacky event of the first quarter was this Roddy White fumble that was picked up by Julio Jones for a 46-yard gain.
