Zac Stacy Injury: Updates on Rams RB's Ribs
The St. Louis Rams' rushing attack took a big hit on Sunday when Zac Stacy was forced to leave the game following a rib injury.
ESPN.com's Nick Wagoner reported that the rookie running back was listed as questionable, and he'd likely be out of the rest of the game.
Zac Stacy has rib injury. Return questionable (probably unlikely at this point).— Nick Wagoner (@nwagoner) October 6, 2013
After the game, Stacy told Wagoner that he will be fine for next week's game and that he just had the wind knocked out of him:
Rams RB Zac Stacy told me after game he feels fine. Said wind got knocked out of him. He says he'll be OK moving forward.— Nick Wagoner (@nwagoner) October 6, 2013
UPDATE: Wednesday, Oct. 9
From ESPN.com's Nick Wagoner:
Rams RB Zac Stacy sits out Wednesday's practice. Jeff Fisher said Stacy is a little sore but will be "fine."— Nick Wagoner (@nwagoner) October 9, 2013
Zac Stacy was on his way to having a great game before he picked up the injury, piling up 78 yards on 14 carries against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It's the most yards a Rams running back has had in a single game this season.
Coming into Sunday, the Rams had the worst rushing offense in the NFL, managing a paltry 47.3 yards a game on the ground.
Although the performance was against the reeling Jaguars and their struggling run defense, having Stacy play that well was encouraging for the Rams as they try to take some of the pressure off quarterback Sam Bradford.
