Luke Joeckel Injury: Updates on Jaguars Star's Ankle, Likely Return Date
Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Luke Joeckel left Sunday's Week 5 game against the St. Louis Rams with a right ankle injury.
After the 2013 No. 2 overall draft pick couldn't leave the field under his own power, a cart was brought out to assist his exit, per the Jaguars' official Twitter:

The account then confirmed the specifics of the injury, noting Joeckel would undergo X-rays and that it was doubtful he would return. He was then downgraded to out shortly thereafter:

This development places even further doubt in the immediate future of the Jags offense, which entered Sunday's contest ranked 30th in passing yards and 31st in rushing yards per game.
Left tackle Eugene Monroe was traded to the Baltimore Ravens earlier in the week, and Jacksonville slid Joeckel over to the left side. He played left tackle in college for Texas A&M.
As Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk pointed out, Joeckel's backup, Cameron Bradfield, allowed the Rams to pressure quarterback Blaine Gabbert not long after Joeckel left the game.
It resulted in Gabbert throwing a pick-six to Matt Giordano, causing the Jaguars to lose their brief lead on the road at the Edward Jones Dome.
The Jaguars will have a ton of work to do to get the offensive line ready for the remainder of the season without Joeckel available.
