FINAL: Bengals 13, Patriots 6
We're underway from Paul Brown Stadium as the Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots do battle in a showdown between AFC powers in pursuit of a return trip to the postseason.
Things got off to a slow start for both offenses as the game remained scoreless until late in the second quarter when Mike Nugent nailed a short field goal to give Cincinnati the lead. New England responded with a field goal of its own after a 20-second drive.
Cincinnati took the lead back in the third quarter behind the leg of Nugent once again. Later in the fourth, Cincinnati inserted defensive tackle Domata Peko into the game at fullback and BenJarvus Green-Ellis bulldozed his way into the endzone against his former team.
New England turned things around quickly and moved down the field for a field goal, but a last-second comeback bid was ended when Adam Jones intercepted Tom Brady.
