Fair result in the end. Both teams had good spells but both were just about worth a draw in an entertaining encounter.
Arsenal return to the top of the table. West Brom pick up four points in back-to-back matches against Manchester United and Arsenal.
Koscielny knocks down Long with a big jump in the box. The home fans howl, but no call from the ref.
Not much to report. This match appears headed for a draw. Both sets of players are looking tired.
90'—WBA 1-1 ARS
Arsenal work the ball from left to right. Wilshere crosses from the right, but it's poor and Myhill gathers.
Before that, though, it was an impressive move by Arsenal.
Four minutes of stoppage time…
Final change for West Brom. Chris Brunt replaces Morgan Amalfitano.
Flamini has a go from the edge of the box. Easy save for Myhill.
Nicklas Bendtner replaces Olivier Giroud for Arsenal.
Giroud off, Bendtner on. First PL game since August 2011.— gunnerblog (@gunnerblog) October 6, 2013
Here's the penalty shout for Arsenal. Penalty or not?
Meanwhile, West Ham are leading Tottenham 3-0 at White Hart Lane.
Mulumbu tackles Wilshere from behind in West Brom's box. The referee waves play on. Good call?
That looked like a horrendously obvious penalty. On replay he made contact with the ball.— Stefan Bienkowski (@SBienkowski) October 6, 2013
Wilshere picks out Giroud behind the West Brom defense. Giroud waits and waits and waits for Myhill to commit, but the keeper plays it perfectly and eventually keeps out Giroud's shot.
This game really could go either way. Arsenal look a bit ropey at the back.— gunnerblog (@gunnerblog) October 6, 2013
Jones hits a hard shot on the right, but Szczesny pushes the ball away comfortably.
Ozil flicks the ball over the top for Giroud, who's played onside by Ridgewell. Giroud's volley goes miles wide.
Here's Wilshere's goal:
Shane Long replaces Nicolas Anelka for West Brom.
Different incidents and certainly a more powerful shot, but that kinda sums up how well Szczesny did to reach that one earlier— Michael Cox (@Zonal_Marking) October 6, 2013
really a great job by Giroud on the goal to hold the ball up and wait for support, then get the ball to the right man.— The Short Fuse (@TheShortFuse) October 6, 2013
Wilshere, having a poor afternoon to that point, has equalised for Arsenal with a powerful 25-yard shot, deflected in off Olsson. 64min 1-1— Oliver Kay (@OliverKayTimes) October 6, 2013
MORE ON THE GOAL
Ozil starts the move with a cleverly angled ball for Giroud. Giroud holds up play and passes to Rosicky near the edge of the box. Rosicky lays off for Wilshere. With the ball bouncing, Wilshere hits a sweet half-volley on goal.
On the way, it's deflected slightly by Olsson and into the net.
Well-worked goal for the Gunners, and it's a welcome relief for Wilshere after a rough week.
Wilshere pulls Arsenal level with a great volley from distance!
