Kansas turned out to be a race that should change the Chase standings.
After a caution filled race, Kevin Harvick would end up in victory lane, and also moved up into the third place position in the standings.
And while Harvick moved forward, Kyle Busch went backward. Kyle saw his day end when he hit the wall during one of the many cautions of the race. Kansas has never been a strong track for Kyle, in fact it's one of his worst, and a top 10 finish here would have been a victory for him today.
Instead he's dropped to fifth place in the standings.
Matt Kenseth managed to maintain his points lead, but Jimmie Johnson closed the gap majorly and is now only three points out of first.
With Kevin Harvick's victory today, he is now a contender for the title if he can continue to finish strong.
Another impressive driver from the race at Kansas was Kurt Busch and the 78 team. Kurt started from the back of the field after wrecking during practice, and managed to finish in second. Can this one car team be a serious title contender?
Kansas proved that drivers are starting to get antsy as the season comes closer to an end. After an exciting race this week, Charlotte should be just as good next weekend.
