Kansas Coach Charlie Weis Calls for Awful Fake Punt Inside Own 20

Kyle NewportFeatured ColumnistOctober 5, 2013

In one of the more puzzling decisions of the season, Kansas coach Charlie Weis called for a fake punt on 4th-and-13 from the Jayhawks' 16-yard line.

Punter Trevor Pardula had trouble getting back to the line of scrimmage, let alone picking up the first down.

There's a time to be aggressive, and there's a time to just kick it away. Kansas had just blown a 10-0 lead, and Texas Tech would score two plays later to take its first lead of the game. It probably wasn't the best time or the right part of the field for this call.

Thanks to The Big Lead for the find.
