Romelu Lukaku is riding the crest of a wave at present, and he shows no signs of falling off any time soon, adding another goal to his scrapbook with the opener for Everton against Manchester City.
Lukaku netted twice and created the other in Everton’s win over Newcastle on Monday, after which he was roundly praised.
All of the attention has not affected his focus, though, judging from the goal he netted against City on Saturday.
Spotting a chance to get beyond the City defence, Lukaku raced onto a long ball. He collected it just outside the box and nutmegged his way past Joleon Lescott before firing a low shot that proved too hot for Joe Hart to handle.
Unfortunately for Lukaku, City showed their title credentials by rallying to secure a 3-1 win.
