Sunderland 1 Manchester United 2
90+4'—Westwood comes up for a corner for Sunderland but United counter. With the keeper out of his goal Cleverley could shoot or play through for Welbeck, but holds onto the ball until Giaccherini fouls him. Time almost up.
90+2'—Sunderland whacking it long into the box toward Wickham now, but nobody is running beyond him to get on the end of his flick-ons.
Five minutes added on
85'—Last five minutes. Man United sub: Rafael replaced by Chris Smalling
82'—For about the first time in half an hour Giaccherini makes inroads into the United box and wins a corner. Have the home team got a late rally in them? They badly need to start picking up a point here and there.
80'—O'Shea also goes into the book. United's quick free kick is worked to van Persie on the right, but he can't find room to cross or shoot and when he eventually tries to get a foot on Rafael's effort, he can't make contact. We've seen next to nothing from the Dutch striker so far.
77'—Rafael is booked for a rather cynical trip as Sunderland looked to break. Into the final 12 or 13 minutes and Sunderland haven't really created much in this half.
United subs: Nani off, Danny Welbeck on, Januzaj off, Antonio Valencia on
73'—Sunderland sub: Ki Sung-Yueng off, Connor Wickham on
69'—Sunderland heads have noticeably dropped here. A set piece, a chance on goal, something is needed to give them a bit of hope here. Vidic is booked for a clumsy tackle on Altidore.
65'—25 minutes to go then, have Sunderland got it in them to come back and rescue a first home point of the season? Or are United going to exploit the spaces which will inevitably arise and absolutely spank the Black Cats out of sight over the remaining time?
Sunderland sub: Ji Dong-Won on for Adam Johnson.
Terrific volley this time from Januzaj as he completes the turnaround in the game. We spoke only 10 minutes ago about how Sunderland would likely pay for the missed chances, and it hasn't taken long at all for that to happen. A cross from the right was only half headed clear and the Belgian has absolutely tonked his shot into the far corner, great goal. 1-2 now.
Sunderland 1 Manchester United 2
Adnan Januzaj, 61 mins
58'—United making all the running no. Evra crosses again and van Persie gets onto the ball, swivelling to shoot first time, but Westwood makes a good save low to his right.
Januzaj puts United level with a calm, side-footed, first-time finish with his right foot, running unmarked onto Patrice Evra's cross from the left side. Really good finish from probably the most effective player on the pitch today.
Sunderland sub: Gardner off, Seb Larsson on
Sunderland 1 United 1
Adnan Januzaj, 54 mins
53'—Gardner is booked for a handball on the edge of the United box.
50'—Sunderland being given huge backing by the home crowd when they pour forward on the counter, but you have to wonder about those missed chances and the incredible expenditure of energy they've already put into maintaining this league. It's likely to cost them a few chances on their own goal as the game goes on.
47'—Oh dear. Januzaj goes through two challenges, gets into the penalty area...and tumbles to the ground. No contact there at all, and the United youngster is booked.
