Goldust has long campaigned for a WrestleMania match against his brother Cody, and he just might get it.

A report by F4WOnline, via WrestlingInc.com, provides details on the short-term contract Dustin Rhodes (Goldust) signed with WWE, which may lead through WrestleMania:

As noted earlier this week, Dustin “Goldust” Rhodes is now working for WWE on a short-term contract. The feeling within WWE is that he will be around through WrestleMania XXX. It’s possible they may finally do the Cody Rhodes vs. Goldust match that both sided have wanted to do for at least two years now.

Dustin has publicly called for a WrestleMania match between the two since 2011.

He originally envisioned a career vs. title match featuring the two at WrestleMania XXVIII that would see Cody put his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Dustin’s career.

Reports came out that WWE was open to the ideajust not at WrestleMania. Not much was heard of the potential bout for two years.

Then came 2013’s Royal Rumble. The Rumble may forever be remembered for Chris Jericho’s surprise return, but one of the great highlights of the show was Goldust’s appearance and in-ring interaction with Cody Rhodes.

Fans clamored for the two to battle at The Showcase of the Immortals, but it didn’t happen.

New life has been breathed into Cody Rhodes’ career with his involvement in the corporation angle WWE is running, and it appears that the momentum that’s been built for him may lead into a clash between the two sons of a Son of a Plumber.
