Davis Love III Meets a Squirrel at Presidents Cup, Beautiful Friendship Is Born

Davis Love III: man of the people...and furry animals.

The Big Lead's Michael Shamburger spotted the latest animal taking over the sports world, and it is getting quite chummy with Love.

During Thursday's rain delay at the Presidents Cup from Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio, Love happened across a friendly squirrel and decided to make it his own.

For more, we listen in to an odd report from NBC sportscaster Jimmy Roberts, who states Love just started feeding the animal, and a lifelong friendship was born.

Because the Internet loves animals, sports and animals playing sports, we remind you that a polar bear was recently spotted dribbling a basketball underwater.

The animals are slowly moving into position to overtake the sports world, people.

Here is a tweet that shows Love with his new pet:

Normally, you move past a scurrying squirrel when walking a golf course but not this guy. Love isn't about to pass up on the opportunity to take on a golf cart hitchhiker, even during the Presidents Cup.

As Roberts states, the golfer even brought the squirrel back with him into the team room. At which point, we imagine the rest of the clubhouse reacted with, "Squirrel!"

Seriously, most people don't react well to random animals, because Tiger Woods looked to be freaked out when his girlfriend, Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn, placed Love's buddy on his shoulder.

"Freaked" may be too strong a word. However, the video clearly shows Woods wants nothing to do with the animal.

What is going on at Muirfield? It's like random rodent day.

All jokes aside, there is something wonderful about Love driving on down the course with the look of a man who has it all figured out.

While most are out there trying to maneuver the course and work on their golf games, he is as peaceful as Ace Ventura out for a stroll around the nature preserve.

We know who the squirrels will be rooting for this weekend.
