Game 1 of the NLDS will feature two of MLB's best young arms, as the Los Angeles Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw squares off against the Atlanta Braves' Kris Medlen.

Kershaw, the 2011 NL Cy Young Award winner, went 16-9 this season while leading the league with 1.83 ERA and 232 strikeouts. Medlen, on the heels of a stellar 2012 campaign, went 15-11 with a 3.11 ERA and 157 strikeouts this year.

Former major league pitcher Dirk Hayhurst breaks down this starting pitching matchup in another edition of "Behind the Mic."

Thursday's Game 1 in Atlanta is scheduled for 8:30pm ET on TBS.
