For the first time in several months, WWE will feature four matches on their weekly one-hour show, which could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it.
On the one hand, you have four matches, which is vastly superior to the two matches we have gotten other weeks; but on the other hand, it leaves less time for each match to really stand out.
Even though the show is called Main Event, none of the matches that we will see this week really seem like main event matches, but that doesn't mean they can't be entertaining.
Let's take a look at the matches that are scheduled for the show, spoiler-free.
Santino vs. Damien Sandow
The Intellectual Savior to the Masses and Money in the Bank winner Damien Sandow will take on Santino in the match that is supposed to be the "main event."
Sandow will likely have to contend with Hornswoggle and Khali outside the ring, which means we might be subjected to more snake charming from Khali.
Hopefully WWE doesn't make that a part of Santino's gimmick and we just get a good ol' regular wrasslin' match, but it seems doubtful given the ridiculousness Santino brings to his matches.
Sandow has been on a bit of a losing streak lately, so this might be his chance to turn things around.
The Wyatt Family vs. Prime Time Players
Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are two big, powerful individuals, but Titus O'Neil is just as powerful and Darren Young is not what you would call small.
This match should be very physical, giving it the possibility to stand out as the best match of the night if given enough time.
PTP and The Wyatts have been major players in the tag team division lately, and the continued advancement of the division should lead to one of these two teams holding the titles at some point in the future.
Curtis Axel vs. Zack Ryder
Ryder may be losing, but at least he has seen an increase in his TV time lately, and that is always a step in the right direction.
Facing Axel could either be a chance to give Axel an easy victory or a way to bring Ryder into the Intercontinental title hunt with a possible victory over Axel.
Both men are talented and have similar attributes, which could also make this match the match of the night if it ends up not being a squash match.
Ryder is nowhere near where he was a couple years ago, but a victory over the IC champion would be a big step forward.
The Real Americans vs. Tons of Funk
More tag team turmoil comes to Main Event with this tag team match. Both Tons of Funk and The Real Americans are regularly featured teams just like The Wyatts and PTP.
This match will be the strength and skill of TRA against the size and power of TOF. This should make for an interesting encounter, with one team most likely dominating the entire match.
The big question on everybody's mind is going to be whether or not Cesaro will be able to hit the Big Swing on either of the two big men across the ring from him.
This four-match card has the potential to produce a few good matches or be a total train wreck. We'll just have to tune in Wednesday to find out.
