The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night to stay in the playoff race. The game was part of the new MLB playoff system implemented last year.

The Pirates were victorious on the shoulders of Russell Martin's two home runs and the seven innings of four-hit, one-run work by Francisco Liriano. To the delight and relief of Pirates fans, the victory marked the end of a 21-year drought. It was their first playoff win since 1992.

Some people were maybe a little too excited…and perhaps intoxicated. The below tweet from Mikey, co-host of The Morning Freak Show on Pittsburgh 96.1 KISS, shows one fan jumping off the Roberto Clemente Bridge into the Allegheny River just after the win.

His mom must be so proud.

Even the usually reserved Pirates manager Clint Hurdle got into the festivities, seen below in a tweet by Steelers Depot dancing during the postgame clubhouse celebration.

Although I would prefer No. 14 to be Francisco Liriano's changeup, not his slider, the list included within the below tweet from USA TODAY Sports does a pretty solid job of summarizing the Pirates as a team. And, of course, everyone loves an underdog.

Then came this gem of Andrew McCutchen walking down the clubhouse stairs under a Roberto Clemente quote. The pic was tweeted out by Sporting News.
