WWE WTF: Santino Marella's Cobra, Ryback's Future and More

WTF is Santino Marella’s cobra doing with a flute? Does Floyd Mayweather owe pocket change (for him) to a music producer? How does Ryback’s future look now that he has Paul Heyman in his corner?

It turns out Santino Marella’s sock puppet, otherwise known as Cobra, has a mind of its own. The cobra was charmed by flute-playing from The Great Khali and Jinder Mahal. This is usually the type of gimmick seen in happy-go-lucky independent promotion CHIKARA, but it somehow made its way onto cable television. Whether this was a fun-loving angle or wrestling infamy is up to viewers to decide.

Floyd Mayweather and WWE saved at least $150,000 after a judge dismissed a case against him filed by music producer Anthony Lawrence Dash. The suit stemmed from WrestleMania XXIV. Dash claims Mayweather used his beat as his entrance music. Looks like that money will remain in Floyd’s couch.

Ryback’s future has looked quite bleak over the past few months. Since turning heel, the character had no direction.

But alongside Paul Heyman, he may finally see the light.

Ryback’s feud with CM Punk will help him both creatively and from an in-ring standpoint. A passable match, not to mention a win, against CM Punk will put Ryback into the discussion as a potential main event heel. Given CM Punk’s reliable history as a ring general, this is more than a possibility.
