Fantasy owners, it's officially time to bench Roddy White.
When he's healthy, White is one of the six or seven best wide receivers in the NFL. Unfortunately for White and his fantasy owners, the nine-year veteran is essentially worthless as he fights through a nagging high ankle sprain.
White has been a shell of his usual self this season, catching just 10 passes for 84 yards through four games. He has yet to reach the end zone, and with Julio Jones and Tony Gonzalez on his team, White isn't even one of Matt Ryan's top two weapons.
White will return to All-Pro form at some point this season, but fantasy owners should look elsewhere for production over the next few weeks. With his explosiveness zapped by his ankle injury, White is no longer a big-play threat and most of his red-zone opportunities will go to Gonzalez.
It's still too early to cut White loose, but he should find a spot on your bench until he proves he can produce at a high level. And if you don't own White, now would be the perfect time to buy low and stash him for later in the season.
