Stephen Hill Injury: Jets WR out for the Game After Suffering Head Injury
New York Jets receiver Stephen Hill didn't make it out of the first quarter in Week 4 against the Tennessee Titans.
Early in the game, Hill was targeted on a pass by quarterback Geno Smith and was struck by safety Michael Griffin, as noted by he Tennessean's Jim Wyatt:
Jets WR Stephen Hill has a head injury after taking big hit from #Titans S Michael Griffin. He's questionable— Jim Wyatt (@jwyattsports) September 29, 2013
After being evaluated by team doctors, Hill was ruled out for the rest of the game with a head injury, as reported by ESPN New York's Rich Cimini:
Hill (head injury) out for the game, team announces. #Jets— Rich Cimini (@RichCimini) September 29, 2013
The second-year receiver had been coming on strong for New York before getting injured. He caught seven passes for 194 yards and a touchdown in his two previous games against the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills.
The Jets were already thin at the receiver position before Hill's injury. If he's out for any amount of time going forward, then rookie quarterback Smith will have a harder time making plays with his arm.
