T.J. Yeldon Adds to Darkhorse Heisman Candidacy with Performance vs. Ole Miss
T.J. Yeldon might not be the flashiest of 2013's Heisman candidates, but he's proving to be a worthy one against the Ole Miss Rebels.
While the Crimson Tide defense has held the Rebs to zero points, it's been Yeldon that has put the Tide in position to roll through three quarters with over 100 yards on just 14 carries. He's also scored the team's lone touchdown as they lead Ole Miss 16-0.
While AJ McCarron has taken most of the Heisman spotlight for the Tide, he's taken on the role of game manager with just 180 yards on 25-of-28 passing.
Alabama hasn't been able to pull away from the Rebels, but Yeldon's ability to carry the offense has the Tide owning a significant advantage in time of possession.
Yeldon finished the game with 121 yards on 17 carries with his 68-yard touchdown run contributing to Bama's 25-0 victory over Ole Miss.
Should the Tide continue to navigate their schedule without a blemish, Yeldon just might sneak into New York as a Heisman finalist.
