Johnny Manziel Adds to Heisman Hype With 2 First Half TD vs. Arkansas
Johnny Manziel continued to do Johnny Manziel things as he continued his second Heisman campaign with a blistering first half against the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Johnny Football's Aggie offense produced 24 points in the first half as Texas A&M held the upper hand in a fast and furious 30 minutes that saw the 2012 Heisman winner go 18-of-23 for 204 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.
He also led the Aggies in rushing with 49 yards on six carries.
With the two first half touchdowns, Manziel now has 17 total touchdowns on the season including three on the ground.
The Aggies defense surrendered 20 points in the first half to make it a 24-20 shootout through two quarters. That should ultimately help Manziel in the long run. He'll be forced to continue piling up the touchdowns if the Aggies are going to put away Arkansas in the second half.
Manziel would actually take a back seat to his teammates the rest of the way as the Aggies scored three touchdowns in the second half without Manziel finding the endzone. A&M picked up the 45-22 victory as the Aggies signal-caller remains right in the middle of a competitive Heisman race.
