Throwback Thursday: Shaq Brings Down the Basket on a Dunk

Tristan ThornburghSocial Media StaffSeptember 27, 2013

Shaquille O'Neal was one of the most dominant forces ever to play in the NBA, with some of the most thunderous dunks in NBA history. He was known as one of the most frequent backboard-breakers, but this goes beyond breaking the glass—this time he took down the entire hoop.

During the 1992-93 season, the NBA increased steel brace strength and increased stability of the backboard to prevent the hoop from falling down after this break and another one during the previous season.

Way to change the game, Big Shaq Daddy.
