Earlier today, it was reported that John Wall, whom, according the Rivals.com, is the No. 1 high school prospect in the country, verbally committed to the Kentucky Wildcats.

Wall joins arguably the best recruiting class of all time, with notable players such as, Demarcus Cousins (No. 2), Daniel Orton (No. 22), Eric Bledsoe (No. 23), Jon Hood (No. 40), and Darnell Dodson.

This class joins a decent group of talent already at Kentucky, with notable forward Patrick Patterson and, potentially, Jodie Meeks. Meeks has declared for the NBA Draft, but with the recent signings, as well as the addition of John Calipari as head coach, Meeks would have to be insane to stay declared.

The potential starting lineup is frightening:

  1. John Wall
  2. Jodie Meeks
  3. Demarcus Cousins
  4. Patrick Patterson
  5. Daniel Orton

In the SEC, which was fairly weak last season, there will be no match for the Wildcats. Arguments could be made that Florida or Mississippi could compete, but no team has a chance to really stick with this Kentucky team.

With all the talk about the roster, its easy to forget about the biggest signing of all, in Kentucky head coach John Calipari. Calipari is leaving a program in which he did nothing but win, even in the NCAA tournament.

With their combination of incredible talent on the court and on the sideline, the Wildcats are poised and ready to make a run in the NCAA tournament. This is a team that will shock people if if doesn't make it to the Final Four.

Add the fact that college basketball is losing so much incredible talent and there is hardly an argument otherwise. Here is a list of college stars that are going to hit the hardwood on the next level:

  • Blake Griffin
  • Hasheem Thabeet
  • James Harden
  • Jordan Hill
  • Stephen Curry
  • Tyler Hansbrough
  • Gerald Henderson
  • Dejuan Blair
  • Earl Clark
  • Jonny Flynn
  • Tyreke Evans
  • DeMar DeRozan
  • Ty Lawson
  • Jeff Teague
  • Damion James

With nearly every team that was significant this past season losing a star or two, there is no way that Kentucky will be kept out of the top 5 in the polls from day one.

So college hoops fans, get ready for another year of excitement and thrills from another dominant Kentucky team.
