FIFA 14 Player Ratings: Stars That Deserve Higher Marks After Impressive Starts
It is nearly impossible for FIFA 14 to be perfect on ratings with over 16,000 players, but there are a number of burgeoning superstars that were sold short in the latest version.
Unlike the Madden series, no one is considered perfect or even given a 99. The highest rating belongs to Lionel Messi at 94, and you can see the top 50 players here.
While this next group of players might not be in the same conversation as Messi or even Cristiano Ronaldo, their success at the early part of this season shows that they should be considered among the best in the world at their position.
Do not be surprised to see these guys rated among the top 50 for the next version of the game.
Isco, Real Madrid (84)
There was a lot of media coverage regarding the Gareth Bale saga throughout the summer, but Real Madrid's other addition at midfield might end up being the bigger move.
Isco came to the club from Malaga for a reported fee of only £23 million, and he is already proving that this was a bargain. The 21-year-old midfielder is tied for the team lead with four goals and seems to have found a home in the middle of the attack for Real.
The youngster has already been successful at both the club and international level, and he is certain to only get better while spending time around the best in the world. He also will get plenty of open space to make plays while teammates like Ronaldo take all of the attention.
Isco is already considered a top player, but he is set to take the step toward elite despite his young age.
Simon Mignolet, Liverpool (81)
Liverpool have been one of the top clubs in the Premier League this season, and one of the biggest reasons for that is the solid play of Simon Mignolet in net.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper is getting his first chance to play on a big stage this year after coming over from Sunderland, and he has not disappointed. In fact, he has stunned many with his key saves in big situations, even on penalty shots.
WhoScored.com has Mignolet rated as the best keeper in the EPL so far this season, above more established players like Petr Cech, Joe Hart and others.
It is starting to become clear that the young player is one of the best in the world at his position, and he deserves a high rating in the video game.
Christian Benteke, Aston Villa (80)
While players on losing teams usually get overlooked, that should not be the case when it comes to Christian Benteke.
The 22-year-old forward had a breakout season last year for Aston Villa, scoring 19 goals in league play to finish fourth in the entire Premier League. He also added four goals and four assists in five matches in the Capital One Cup.
Although some might question whether this was just a fluke, Benteke is already at it again with four goals in five matches to start the 2013-14 season. He is also becoming a bigger factor on the Belgium national team, a squad that could make a deep run at the 2014 World Cup.
Being on a struggling club in the EPL means that it might take some time before he gets noticed by the international media, but the forward is clearly one of the best young scorers in the world and should be recognized as such.
