WASHINGTON - FEBRUARY 05: Former New York Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens (R) departs with his attorneys Rusty Hardin (C) and Lanny Breuer (L), after being deposed by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee about steroid use in Major League Ba

Love them or hate them, these guys are the most despised figures in the sports world to the general public. Some are dominating, some are record holders, and some are just plain jackasses. Feel free to add more in the comment section. I am open to all suggestions because they are probably all correct.

The Home Run King

SAN FRANCISCO - SEPTEMBER 26: Barry Bonds #25 of the San Francisco Giants waves to fans as he leaves the game against the San Diego Padres at the end of the sixth inning on September 26, 2007 at AT&T Park in San Francisco, California. Tonight will be the

The steroid allegations have made Barry Bonds a much despised individual outside of the Bay Area. His career numbers can't and won't change the general perception of this prolific slugger. Like it or not he is the home run king and no one can take that away from Bonds in his mind.

Simple Pest

PHILADELPHIA - NOVEMBER 24: Sean Avery #16 of the Dallas Stars skates against the Phildelphia Flyers on November 24, 2008 at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (Photo by Bruce Bennett/Getty Images)

The jackass of the list. This donkey has gone from prized talent out of juniors to a guy that no one wants to be in the same dressing room with. The talent and abilities on the ice just will not make up for his prima donna show-boat antics. Just ask Mike Modano how he feels about this guy. Put this guy in a room with Georges Laroque and see who comes out in one piece. Better yet, let Marty Brodeur get a couple shots in while you're at it.

The Palace Bruiser

INDIANAPOLIS - MAY 22: Ron Artest #23 of the Indiana Pacers and Darvin Ham #8 of the Detroit Pistons jostle for position in Game one of the Eastern Conference Finals during the 2004 NBA Playoffs at Conseco Fieldhouse on May 22, 2004 in Indianapolis, Indi

What else can be said about Ron Artest. Constantly getting in opponents' faces about smudging his Puma. Come on, this guy is straight up thug. Not to mention the little fiasco he got into with fans in the infamous fight at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Clubhouse Cancer

CHICAGO - APRIL 29: A.J. Pierzynski #12 of the Chicago White Sox bats against the Seattle Mariners during the game on April 29, 2009 at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago, Illinois. (Photo by Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images)

A.J. Pierzynski is referred to by former teammates as the ultimate clubhouse cancer. He is the single most distracting teammate in the majors today. On the field he will go out of his way to throw a spike up or step on the first baseman's foot and say "sorry, didn't mean to do that." His attitude is a travesty to America's favorite past time.

NFL Highway

LOS ANGELES, CA - APRIL 25: Quarterback Matt Barkley #7 of the USC Trojans looks on the field during the spring game on April 25, 2009 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California. The cardinal team won 16-10. (Photo by Jeff Golden/Ge

Not a player, I know. If you put on a Trojan jersey you are hated by the majority of the nation. When a fourth string running back can get drafted in the third round, you just sit back and say, "Damn, I hate how good USC is."

The TO Show

CLEVELAND - SEPTEMBER 7: Terrell Owens #81 of the Dallas Cowboys looks on before the game against the Cleveland Browns at Cleveland Browns Stadium on September 7, 2008 in Cleveland, Ohio. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)

Everyone knows why people hate this guy. It is his way or the highway. You saw it is San Francisco, Dallas and soon in Buffalo. He acts like a child when he doesn't get thrown to 15 times a game. He is the one guy who can cry and people actually show sympathy to this idiot. To me, TO is the ultimate cancer in sports today.

Diesel

OAKLAND, CA - MARCH 15: Shaquille O'Neal #32 of the Phoenix Suns dribbles the ball against the Golden State Warriors during an NBA game on March 15, 2009 at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges and agrees that, b

Let's be honest here. If Shaq is not wearing your team's uniform, you just simply do not like him. Whether it is his low-post dominance or showboat attitude, this guy is just not tolerable. Off the court the hatred reaches new levels with his rants and raps about how his *** tastes, this guy is just not liked. A little bit of a surprise to make this list because he is not publicized as a mean or disliked person.

The Glove

DALLAS - JUNE 08: Gary Payton #20 of the Miami Heat yells during the second quarter against the Dallas Mavericks in game one of the 2006 NBA Finals on June 8, 2006 at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges an

This one was purely thrown in by my hatred of Gary Payton. I had no problem with him for the first 12 years of his career, but he turned in to quite the leech bouncing around from championship contender to championship contender no matter what role he would be in. Come on Glove, you may have fooled the rest of the world, but not me.

The Rocket

WASHINGTON - FEBRUARY 13: Major League Baseball pitcher Roger Clemens looks over his papers during a U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing on Capitol Hill February 13, 2008 in Washington, DC. The 'Mitchell Report' named several for

Was it the congressional hearing and the testimony of one Brian McNamee that made everyone hate Roger Clemens or was it that he had a killer instinct and beat our favorite teams every time he took the hill? It has to be a little bit of both. Roger Clemens will be remembered by three things: dominant, cheater, hated.

The Legend

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - NOVEMBER 30: Brett Favre #4 of the New York Jets gestures to the referee after a play against the Denver Broncos on November 30, 2008 at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. (Photo by Jim McIsaac/Getty Images)

Brett Favre is hated for the past two years. His emotional retirement and then comeback to his re-retirement to his possible re-comeback. Come on Brett stay at home, out of the spotlight, ride off into the sunset and don't look back. I hated you just for playing for the Packers, but now its your attention starved personality and the fact that Favre does not spell Farve.
