Stephen Hill's Updated 2013 Fantasy Outlook After Week 3
New York Jets wide receiver Stephen Hill continues to emerge as one of Geno Smith's favorite targets, as he's already surpassed 100 yards and has scored his first touchdown of the season in his team's Week 3 game. His Jets lead the Buffalo Bills in the third quarter.
As the Bills were battling back in the second quarter, Smith found Hill for a huge 51-yard touchdown strike—showcasing the ability to make big-splash plays in an offense that sorely needs it.
Hill has three catches for 108 yards through the third quarter and has been targeted five times. After averaging 8.5 targets per contest through two games, it looks like nothing has changed as far as Smith valuing Hill's ability to make plays.
Santonio Holmes happens to be Smith's favorite target on the afternoon with eight targets, but that hasn't stopped Hill from having a very productive day in fantasy football.
Hill had yet to get into the end zone on the 2013 season before Sunday, which has to give his fantasy owners a sigh of relief.
He was expected to be a big factor in the Jets' passing game and is improving from week to week—39 yards in Week 1, 86 yards in Week 2 and now surpassing the century mark with a TD with time still to play in Week 3.
It's tough to bet on the Jets' passing attack being successful, but Hill's constant improvement should only validate his stock as a solid flex option when the Jets receive a fortunate defensive matchup.
