Evaluating Nate Washington's Long-Term Fantasy Value After Week 3
Whenever we forget he's there, Nate Washington always jumps out of the bushes to surprise us all.
In no draft throughout the world did a disgruntled owner angrily scream when another drafter plunked Washington off the board. No, the more likely response was "Oh yeah, I forgot about him" or "Where is he playing these days?"
He's still playing with the Tennessee Titans, for whom he has caught eight passes for 131 yards this afternoon against the San Diego Chargers. Even though Kenny Britt and Kendall Wright offer plenty more upside, the nine-year veteran leads the team in targets.
Washington is a solid wide receiver, but there's a reason he went ignored on draft day. The 30-year-old caught 46 passes for 746 yards and four touchdowns last year and has yet to score a touchdown this season.
Jake Locker's safety valve occasionally delivers an alluring stat line, but those days are buried between unimpressive fantasy performances. Don't overreact to one good game.
